As we await a large Russian invasion, we mustn't forget that Russia has already fractured Ukraine.

By annexing Crimea in 2014 and waging the war in the Donbass using pro-Russian separatist proxies for the past almost-eight years. Inflaming divisions among Ukrainians, using fake news and other propaganda, along with false flags or the threat thereof. They've already cut off significant parts of the eastern regions of Ukraine. A full-scale invasion of the whole country would be a major escalation of what they've been doing for the past several years.

And now Moscow is going to officially recognize "their" two Donbass republics. Next stop for Russia: Kyiv. They want a pro-Kremlin stooge in there, eh?
