Jen Psaki: "To be clear: these measures are separate from and would be in addition to the swift and severe economic measures we have been preparing in coordination with Allies and partners should Russia further invade Ukraine."

We should have sanctioned them when they started building up troops. We should have sanctioned them when they lied about troop withdrawls. They are all but invading, and we have yet to sanction them.

At first, they merely recognized the independence of the two states. The Executive Order was issued. The Russians sent in their military after that. Now it is time for the promised sanctions.
