The TFG Org and Weisselberg claim they were indicted because Manhattan prosecutors don't like TFG

The Trump Organization and its longtime CFO Allen Weisselberg asked a judge to dismiss a 15-count indictment against them from the Manhattan district attorney's office, arguing that they were targeted because prosecutors don't like former President Donald Trump.

Trump has not been charged with a crime in connection to the DA's investigation, which is focusing on whether his company evaded tax laws and artificially inflated or deflated the value of its assets for loan and tax purposes.

But his lawyers argued in the filing, which was submitted late last month and unsealed Tuesday, that prosecutors "targeted Donald Trump's associates and companies for investigation and prosecution based on their animus toward his speech and political views."

They asked a Manhattan judge for a hearing, at which they'll argue that The Trump Organization and Weisselberg are the victims of "selective prosecution."

Bwahahahaha... So their defense consists of 'Other people commit crimes' and 'You don't like me'... Heh, hate to inform you dirtbags but prosecutors pretty much always hate the scumbags they are prosecuting because they are fucking criminals.

This has nothing to do with not liking TDFG. It is about ILLEGAL business dealings witnessed by Allen Weisselberg and Michael Cohen.

15 charges. FIFTEEN!

I'm guessing that if the case moves forward, the DA's office will most definitely charge TDDFG with something (the articles says that as of right now this indictment does not charge him).

I don't know that I've ever seen a judge rule that a case can't go forward because the defendant says, "They're picking on me!" Is that even a legal argument?

Saying to the judge 'Look, your honor, there's dozens of burglars out there, they're not on trial for burglary? Why am I being picked on? That's not right. You should let me go. I'm only here because the desk sergeant doesn't like bald guys.'
