"SNIP.......

“A North Carolina court rejected a Republican-drawn map of the state’s 14 congressional districts on Wednesday and substituted its own version, the second time in less than two weeks that a court in the state has invalidated a Republican House map as unconstitutionally partisan,” the New York Times reports.

“The new map, drawn by a nonpartisan panel of four redistricting experts, appeared to split North Carolina’s congressional districts roughly equally between Republicans and Democrats, in a state where voters are divided evenly along partisan lines. It gives each party six relatively safe House seats and makes the remaining two winnable by either side.”

The new 14 has enough of Charlotte to take out Cawthorn.

We’ll see how this shakes out. No way does Cawthorn have the guts to follow through. He’ll probably try running back home or try another safe district.

which was drawn Republican. This 14 looks competitive with a slight R. A good Dem candidate could take this.

The many maps are a bit confusing….Cawthorn would be in 13 now if he doesn’t return to 11.

Damn all this NCGOP-manufactured election chaos.

The way this new 14 district appears to be drawn with a reach into Charlotte, a Jeff Jackson, who actually lives in that new district, could pull it off.

Our redistricting commission is run by Republicans who refuse to redraw the map in an equitable manner, even thumbing their noses at the Ohio SC and potential contempt of court charges. The clock is ticking toward an early March deadline, and they continue to ignore the two Democrats on the commission and keep resubmitting different versions of their shit map. I'd love to able to drive up to Columbus and knock their damn heads together
