LOS ANGELES, Feb 23 (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken told NBC News on Wednesday that he expected Russia to invade Ukraine before the night was over but still sees a chance to "avert a major aggression".
"Everything seems to be in place for Russia to engage in a major aggression against Ukraine," Blinken told NBC in an interview, adding he could not be precise about time or place.

(768 posts)NATO is in no position to fight a ground war in Europe. To prevail it would require an enormous influx of troops and equipment from the USA just like in WW2.
Russia actually has more ground troops, artillery and so on than the USA. The USA greatly exceeds their capability in air power.

(32,025 posts)Russia already invaded Ukraine in 2014 and took over Crimea. In the last couple days it has moved troops into eastern Ukraine. Is Ukraine only being defined as the areas of the country which are not Russian majority?
