Former president Donald Trump's recent praise for Russian President Vladimir Putin will look "atrocious" if, as U.S. intelligence predicts, tens of thousands of people die during an invasion of Ukraine, according to Michael McFaul, the former U.S. ambassador to Russia.

Focus on the people, not the politics.

I don't have much use for Trump. But saying, "Hey, we expect 10k or more dead and we get to blame the devil" is weak sauce for the 10k or more dead.

I'd rather the 10k or more draw breath, even if it means foregoing the sheer joy of chortling over their corpses as I blame the devil.

Hell, I'd rather 100 or more draw breath. Center the worthy, not the worthless.
