'A son wept over the body of his father in the middle of the wreckage of a missile attack in a residential district in the eastern Ukrainian town of Chuguiv in the Kharkiv region as the country woke up on Thursday to an invasion ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
I told him to leave, the man in his 30s said, sobbing next to the twisted ruins of a car.
Nearby, a woman screamed curses into the wintry sky.
A missile crater, 4-5 metres (13-16 feet) wide, was scoured into the earth between two devastated five-floor residential buildings.'
There's more text and photos at the link. This is war and war is hell. Whoever said that
said it well.

(54,403 posts)After all that Hitler did to the British, does Putin REALLY believe that terrorizing the civilian population is going to win him the war?

(21,359 posts)we need to condemn Putin to make him a monster to the average American. Tie the Republican party to Putin because they are going to try to blame president Biden for the war.
Bash Putin with all you have, no condemnation is too strong. Putin is taking away a country's freedom and he wants to do the same for the United States. Use the word freedom a lot, and murderer.

(19,201 posts)Making those silent missiles to scare those poor Russian "journalists". Do you think the Russian people will buy this?
The first casualty of war is the truth. Putin is exceptional at "reshaping" the truth.

(4,356 posts)Oh no, I won't target civilians, he said. Those poor people in that apartment complex. The picture of that woman. The weeping son and a young boy killed in another town I read about. It just makes you want to reach out and comfort them in some way.
Putin, may you and your evil puppet supporters burn in hell.

(10,011 posts)And connect them to Putin invading a country with non provocation. They also need to emphasize that Putin is trying to rebuild the old malevolent USSR because he hates the West and blames us for its demise. Ronald Reagan is spinning in his grave to see how Republicans today are supporting Putin and his goals for us.
But the US and the EU nations will not allow Putin to annex former Soviet statesthus, this is the beginning of WWIII if Putin is not stopped now.

(9,670 posts)And does that mean that aiding and comforting the enemy at time of war is constitutionally considered treason? And does that mean that Trump and his cohorts actions and words with respect to Russia would be considered treasonous?
Is this what it took? Or do we need MORE?
