Clearly, self - proclaimed American "schools of journalism" have their work cut out for them.

(1,654 posts)Simply ridiculous: "Why didn't the threat of sanctions stop the invasion?"

(4,845 posts)I haven't watched any news for months. How is calling someone "a worthy adversary" translate to underestimating them? I had to turn it off after that.

(13,582 posts)I stand with the President - not with these news hacks.

(4,111 posts)"when and how are the sanctions going to work" -- because Biden is clairvoyant.

(4,845 posts)We can apply whatever pressure we want but we wouldn't know if or when the pressure will work.

(11,276 posts)I cut them out long ago. What do they want the U.S. to fight Russia? Seems it. Young hot dogs news talkers with brave words who would never fight.

(7,850 posts)they don't know what questions to ask and don't understand the answers...gotcha journalism is not journalism...it's soundbite bilge...

(3,622 posts)Clearly unprepared to pose intelligent questions based upon the statement, but instead asking shrill questions regarding subjects already answered.
Add in the boorish behaviour exhibited...

(26,501 posts)takes over, in part thanks to their constant stream of bullshit and high school gossip style "journalism".

(2,868 posts)There was Kristen Welker, giving her usual platter of RightWing Repub talking points on NBC. She's very well prepared for that.

I can't stand either of these two.

(5,557 posts)Sanctions clearly don't work, or at least the mild ones we've done until now haven't.
More of the same isn't going to cut it, and that realization seemed to be behind the reporters clumsy questioning. They could have done it better, but I am fine with and support their lines of questioning.

(7,838 posts)The gotcha question! They never even understood what he had said or they wouldn't of asked some of their lame questions! Thank you Joe Biden! Standing up to Putin instead of kissing his ass!

(798 posts)I stomached the press conference because of the circumstances. Lots of braying jackasses in the room.

(3,622 posts)The President started out by selecting reporters and publicly identifying the organisation they represented.
It worked for the first two or three questions then it broke down...the FOX entertainment reporter was allowed to break the process and the entire conference devolved.
Either the White House raises the standards or the media does...fact is I'm not optimistic.

(1,004 posts)is being invaded (or quasi-ally, in this case). The absence of personal sanctions against Putin is particularly glaring. There is no further escalation to be had by Russia here...the fog of war has set in. Time to go all-in with whatever you have.

(15,334 posts)it reminded me of someone watching the monkeys at the zoo.
The only thing missing was them throwing their own pooh.
And there was Biden, resolute, firm, informed, engaged and, dare I say; "strong".
He looked at them with the same exasperated look of a dad watching his toddlers throwing a tantrum, or should I say Todd-lers?
