Hostomel airport-"The Russian landing party has been destroyed"

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have regained control of the International Airport “State Enterprise Antonov” in Hostomel, 10km of Kyiv.

"Now we have repelled [Russian attack] for sure. Hostomel airport is ours [under Ukraine’s control]. The Russian landing party has been destroyed," Oleksiy Arestovych, a non-staff adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, posted on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

Earlier, it was reported that the occupiers took control of the International Airport “State Enterprise Antonov” in Hostomel, less than 10km of Kyiv.

Hostomel Airport is just outside of Kyiv. Short article, what's above is everything.

The report states that the landing party has been destroyed. From what I saw in video, that landing party included at least 20 Russian helicopters.

Putin probably thought that the Ukrainian forces would collapse quickly and he could take control of the country quickly.

I think that when Russian soldiers start coming home in body bags to Mother Russia, the Russian people are going to really start questioning Putin's follies.

but Russia can't hide the loss of it's forces, and Russian mothers and fathers are going to start questioning Putin's follies when Boris and Vlad fail to come home.

As I recall Desert Storm was over a month of pounding before the infantry and armor really got cooking. It was sooner in Dubya's folly, but there was less to destroy.

What Russia threw at Ukraine before the troops started moving, seems tiny in comparison. "Tiny" might imply something bigger than I intend.
