Watch, particularly, around the 30 second mark.
I may have never seen anything like this in politics before.
Mandel is apparently so embarrassed by his own position that he can't even voice his position out loud.
I have seen candidates with more poise running for grade school president.
I'd push this clip anywhere and everywhere - I think it summarizes an inadequate candidacy.

It's amazing.

(14,040 posts)'cause when he nodded in the affirmative, it wouldn't transcripted. So if he said no elsewhere, then they couldn't "get the transcript."

(4,507 posts)she's probably right as to why he did it, but:
1) have you ever seen anything so pathetic looking and
2) isn't it wild that you have a viewpoint that is openly part of the platform you are campaigning on that you are scared to have transcribed?
I thought about the second one later that night after seeing it on Maddow, and the implications just blew my mind. The mix of dishonesty and honesty alone that are combined - what a crazy thing.

Rachel was right about the reason for his non-verbal answer, but when you step back and think about it, its one of the craziest campaign-related videos I've ever seen.
That kid wants to be a senator???
