and went on to tie in his experience with Putin in that election to the 2016 election. What surprided me was...not once did she mention Tad Devine...
Tad Devine, who worked with Manafort to help elect strongman Viktor Yanukovych president of Ukraine in 2010, revealed Thursday that he is assisting the special counsel investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Congratulations on a great campaign, Devine wrote Manafort in an email after Yanukovychs February 2010 victory. You deserve enormous credit for pulling everything together, and for your leadership. It was great to be part of the team.

Tad Devine, a Democratic consultant who worked on Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) presidential campaign, testified that Manafort paid his firm $500,000 to work on Viktor Yanukovychs presidential campaign in Ukraine in 2010, paid in monthly installments of $62,500. Devine also received a $100,000 bonus when Yanukovych won the election. (Special counsel Robert Mueller has alleged that Manafort earned more than $60 million dollars from his Ukraine work during the period at issue and failed to report a significant percentage of it on his tax returns.)

(145,313 posts)A significant amount of Manafort's net worth was forfeited. Manafort still owed a Russian oligarch money and so he should be worried

(15,325 posts)Others besides the US, that is. They were a team. I recall reading about the background.
Devine was still collecting on the Yanukovych deal when he began the Sanders campaign .
It began somewhere around 2013 I think.
About the same time Zack Exley formed Brand New Congress & made a trip to Russia, around 2012 . He returned, formed Justice Democrats & joined it all with the Sanders campaign.
Sketchy shit, there. The docs I've read on that whole timeline show a rather orchestrated step by step process. They all emerged ready to go around 2015/16.
Yikes.
Finally someone's putting an emphasis on that Yanukovych business, because Putin hired them to basically clean up his reputation as a drinker & sanitize his bio into a populist dream for all.
They were hired to re-image & sell a shiney new
Yanukovych to the people.
DeVine was in the middle of it with Manafort & I think that crook Kilimnik.
Maybe she'll address DeVine's roll yet.
Then do Exley's shady business.
All roads do lead to Putin, don't they!
I was always surprised that the connection between Devine and Manafort was always ignored and to this day do not understand why

(15,325 posts)It's not like the documentation wasn't availible. They still are.
Mainstream & Social media dropped the ball on American Democracy. We watched it happen in realtime.
There is no argument that Hillary Clinton was running her campaign against Vladimer Putin in 2016, & Joe Biden also, again in 2020.
