The cop that shot the guy in the movie theater over popcorn got acquitted!!!!!

A Florida jury acquitted retired Florida police captain Curtis Reeves in the shooting death of a man in a movie theater eight years ago.

Reeves was accused of second-degree murder and aggravated battery in the 2014 killing of 43-year-old Chad Oulson, who was on a movie date with his wife.

Reeves pleaded not guilty and claimed self-defense, previously telling authorities he feared he would be attacked after he and Oulson got into an argument. The argument started after Oulson sent a text message to his young daughter's babysitter during previews and Reeves told him to put his phone away, authorities previously said.
Oulson's wife was injured in the shooting but survived.
Jurors began deliberating Friday evening, following a nine-day trial, which Oulson's widow had hoped would end in guilty verdicts.
"Nobody is ever above the law," state prosecutor Scott Rosenwasser said during his closing arguments. &quot Reeves) killed another human being in a crowded movie theater next to his wife for no reason."

that the GQP is going to have a "Militia" force headed by Kyle Rittenhouse and Curtis Reeves. THEY ALONE know who deserves to die and get to go out and show other "MAGA" believers that THEY know 'the way' and can lead them all into, well, MAGA-land.

If Sandy Hook didn't awaken this nation into the gun crisis, we're already too far gone...........

GAWD help us all..........

So apparently, in Florida it's my feelings, and not another's actions, that decides whether I may legally shoot him dead?

All I have to do is say afterwards that I was feelin' askeered, and it's all good?

who shot his attacker after he turned away from the attacker after displaying his gun. They got in a wrestling match with the man trying to seize his gun (even though Dooley was leaving). Dooley shot him during the struggle. He eventually pled guilty to a time served manslaughter charge after his conviction was thrown out.

Oulson was an unhinged bully, but he didn't deserve to be shot like that. Reeves also shot the wife, but apparently that didn't carry any weight with the jury.

I remember when this happened I was thinking it was an easy conviction. Slapping popcorn away results in a shooting? Unbelievable.
