I'm pretty sure the man is asking for help, just not help to flee his country.

(10,830 posts)Particularly the excerpt from his book. He sounds a lot like Garry Kasparov in terms of dealing with Putin and Putin's aims. Not a man you can finesse or negotiate with bc he has only one gear: Russian superiority and hatred of democracies everywhere.
Whatever the case, in this war and this moment, Putin is losing the PR war around the world. No one is buying the propaganda other than right-wing admirers.
As for Ukraine? The country and her people have astonished the world with their bravery and resolve.
Also interesting that he says you can forget any 'peace talks' with Putin. Again, one gear: he'll demand total capitulation.
