Russian Losses according to Ukraine's military

?s=20&t=Ho4J1HIenP84T-layRCOAg

For comparison, Russia lost 15,000 troops in ten years in Afghanistan. They are already more than 1/5 of the way to that number in Ukraine, and it hasn't been a week.

And others have been confirmed by independent sources, such as the trooper carriers shot down, video of tanks blown up by Molotov cocktails, etc. Numbers could be inaccurate but the Ukrainian people are not backing down.

Also, given the size of Putin's offensive, I imagine anything short of these numbers could mean Kyiv falls. I am cautiously optimistic they are accurate.

Even if the true figures amount to only a third of those numbers above, they are a sign that Ukraine is not giving up.

and likely 15% of the committed force.

In 2 full days of fighting... that is simply astounding if true.

earlier that had a reported 300 on board. That's about 9% of their figure in those two planes.

One can say these numbers might be inflated for propaganda, but just looking at these videos shows that may very well not be the case. The videos alone account for a large fraction of those numbers....

Russia needs to back out now before they lose their entire Army. At this rate if the numbers are accurate, their whole Invading force will be wiped out in a matter of months or even weeks.

Spetznaz are not just ordinary cannon fodder. They are the elite of the Russian troops (Войска специального назначения, (loosely, troop unit for a special purpose). A friend of ours here is from near the area of the two airfields. One is practically a suburb of Kyiv, and the other is maybe 30 miles away. From people who were involved, he heard how it went down and got some images, which he showed me. He is still at our house now. The Ukrainian defenders used the same tactic in both cases. The defenders listened in on the Russian communications, attacked and wiped out the ground crew as the planes were on landing approach, and then blasted them to bits before the planes could land.

Kazakhstan, a neighbor and ally of Russia, has reportedly denied a request for its troops to join Russian forces in their invasion of Ukraine.

The former Soviet republic also said it is not recognizing the Russia-created breakaway republics, the Luhansk People’s Republic and the Donetsk People’s Republic, NBC News reported Friday, citing officials.
