Can someone please explain this to me.

I keep hearing that they do not want to sanction Putin`s personal accounts because then he would not be inclined to negotiate. Would he not negotiate to get his personal sanctions removed? It just makes me sad that the person causing this mess does not feel the pain of his actions and that his people will.

This means the United states is done with Putin. He is no longer a legitimate leader in our eyes.

but some of his most identifiable assets are in Russia (his unfinished super yacht left Germany for Russia weeks ago) or are in russian currency. We will see how good the banking system is at finding his "hidden" assets.

Putin is likely the world's richest person, possibly 2 or 3 times richer than Musk or Bezos.
