We had an ice storm here in south eastern Pa. Later the sun came out and there was a slight breeze. I went out into the yard with Harper my Corgi. The ice and water was falling off the trees. The sun was producing all kind of color through the ice and water. It was noisy. In fact Harper did not like it. I was mesmerized. Then I woke up and realized I needed to go get Lois because this was not going to last long.
Later that day Harper and I were in the woods on the side by side. I was off in la la land solving world problems. I looked over and Harper was looking up at the sky. Which means there is a hawk or something up there. I look up and there had to be over 100 vultures gliding around. It was dusk. The visual again mesmerized me. No color just these shapes gliding around silently. I don't know if he hears them or smell them. Being in the woods with this dog is cool. He will sit there and his ears are twitching and moving independently. His nose is twitching. His eyes are darting around. Then he will jerk his head around to some noise or smell I cannot detect. Basically there is a whole world he sees, hears and smells that I am not part of. Yet I think I am smarter than he is.
I am retired and when I have days like that one I smile for many days.
Just wanted to share what I thought was a stunning day.
