It would be one thing if Putin stayed in those Eastern territories

he claimed were disputed. (No, they weren't)
But I think with this unwarranted full invasion, he has invited retaliation within Russia itself.
The Russian people might find themselves paying a price they didn't expect.

Unless they are daft.

This was never just about the Eastern Territories. This is about the theft of a nation by the powerful on the weak. It is murder and theft on a national scale. The Russian people will be held responsible for their government eventually. It may be worse on Russians if Ukraine's military is defeated.

While I am not saying they should militarily, Ukraine would be justified in attacking over the Russian border.

of various countries to prevent them from meeting the requirements for joining NATO and the EU... which is exactly why those countries should have been immediately admitted and this would not be happening now. Putin is deathly afraid of NATO, the only thing thing that stops him.

Those territories are part of Ukraine. His occupying them for economic gain is no different than England in Northern Ireland, including sending in "peace keepers."

What I am saying is if he kept to those areas, there probably wouldn't be some sort of attacks on Russian soil in retaliation.
Now I think there will be.

It doesn't work.
