Or are they just basically ddos'ing the consumer facing websites and taking them down? Because if its the latter then this xkcd strip form years ago comes to mind.

Its great PR, but unless they are getting into the internal networks, this mainly just disrupts people trying to access the public site. If its cover or a side effect to a larger breach, then that would be much much better.
