Belarus Issues Dire World War III Warning as It Gets Ready to Send Troops to Ukraine

The Putin-backed president of Belarus has warned that World War III could be about to begin as he reportedly prepares his troops to assist with Russia’s mass-scale invasion of Ukraine.

President Alexander Lukashenko warned that the crisis in Ukraine could spark a global conflict, writing in a statement: “Russia is being pushed towards a third world war. We should be very reserved and steer clear of it. Because nuclear war is the end of everything.”

Despite the dire warning, the increasingly rogue leader—who allowed Russia to amass its military hardware and launch an attack from his side of the border—is expected to send troops into Ukraine, according to The Washington Post, citing an unnamed Biden administration official who said, “It’s very clear Minsk is now an extension of the Kremlin.”

The threat of Belarus joining the invasion cast a shadow over Monday’s peace talks which began on the Belarus border town of Gobel shortly before 1 p.m. local time.

... the invasion began because they thought it would be short.

I think UKR can win this if they keep Putler from holding on to their objectives ... about a month ... 2 at max and the Russians will pull back.

These are petulant responses to the world wide TEXT BOOK RELENTLESS pr campaign from UKR and their field losses which are mounting up now that UKR are using TB2 drones to shoot at columns of Putler tanks.

2 months from now the bread lines in Russia are going to be block(S) long

are likely to be less consequential than Italy’s contribution to Germany in WWII; and they were pretty useless. Belarus has a tiny army and little armour.

Not so direct a line to Moscow/nukes.

Though I imagine Belarus has nukes, they know they could be wiped out in a matter of minutes if they launch any.

Time is not on Putin's side. There may be a time when that calculus changes, but before that, there is no reason risk military involvement and escalation while everything is currently working in favor of Ukraine and the west.

Protect Russian MSRs. That can patrol the routes and deal brutally with any irregular forces but giving Russia a veil of separation from war crimes against civilians

Another option is to use Belarus troops to assault the cities. They then get the worst casualties and wear down the defenders for later Russian attacks.

about what they are doing in Brest at the border of Poland. Brest is/was a staging ground, and their presence there is not new, except they were putting equipment there a short while ago. Is this part of a delayed plan that they are now going to implement?

Belarus, you are not in the right. YOU will also be defeated.

The western allies had no problem with killing Quaddaffi and his wife and kids in his home, no problem finding and killing Saddam in hole in the ground and neither of these two threatened nuke or occupy another sovereign nation. We have been more harsh against Iran a country that has not invaded or occupied other peoples' land in the last 100 years or more. And then there was bin Laden.

Why can't the head of Belarus and Putin be taken down?

Getting rid of Putin and Lukashenko would need to be an inside job, either from the Kremlin or GRU or whatever the Russian intelligence apparatus is now.
