BBC: Russian convoy 'stretches up to 40 miles'

19:23

Satellite imagery company Maxar Technology says that earlier reports indicating the column of Russian armour advancing on Kyiv is 17 miles (27km) long are inaccurate.

The convoy actually stretches about 40 miles, according to Maxar.

The company added that new images also show ground troops and attack helicopters in southern Belarus, less than 20 miles from the Ukraine border.

Putin and the Russians are pissed that they've had their asses kicked for 4 days...

They're preparing for a WW2 style siege on Kiev.

It's a very, very bad thing...

Kiev needs to evacuate ALL non-combatants.

Former US general warns of possible atrocities

Mark Kimmitt, a retired US brigadier general, has warned Russia could unleash atrocities if it comes down to street warfare.

"If there's one thing the Russians know about, its urban conflict," he tells BBC World News.

Yeah it's scary.

Putin might want to turn it into a Battle of Berlin type thing.

Wouldn't need to hit every vehicle.

Must be fuel trucks and rockets.

Light up the column.

Let them have it....
Can the Russians hold it long-term?
Things are getting nasty in Russia now. Even Mikhail Fridman and Oleg Deripaska are feeling the sanctions and dropping their support.
Move to a government-in-exile posture elsewhere in the country.
The world does not need dead Ukrainians and dead Zelenskyys, and if they stay in Kyiv, that's what happens.
The world doesn't need dead heroes... it needs living symbols of hope.
The Nazis captured Paris...

Just asking.
(On edit. The ruble is now worth less than a US penny. The Russian economy can't too much of that.)

... and bitching about "Free-dumb". "I ain't lettin' no gubbmint tell me what to do."

2... Kyiv has about 2 million citizens. The attacks started 4 days ago. That's some time.

3... Hurricanes aren't half as scary as Russian troops in an urban setting.

But ....I hear you.

Maybe the Russians have the city surrounded. If so... Kyiv and its inhabitants are double-fucked. Berlin in 1945... all over again.

If the plan was to use overwhelming force, why did they screw around and suffer heavy losses for four days first? Something about this feels really off.
