We could evict the malignant 🤡 posse from Ukraine in a week if we didn't have to be concerned about Vladimir Putin using nuclear weapons to stave off a military defeat. Therein lies the dilemma.

(99,708 posts)Putin is going to lose. The question is when and how. This isn't Iraq or Afghanistan. We just give it back to the Ukrainians. I keep coming back to the point that Putin isn't a rational actor so that needs to be taken into account

These were military guys who did the math and it would basically add up to more than 16 battalions if it was 40 miles. It would also be totally ridiculous to have that amount of equipment together where a disruption would stop the whole operation.
Just attack the very front and the very back and they're kettled. Plus, being stuck on that long of a line would take a shitload of resupplying.

(51,034 posts)It just makes zero sense to have 40 miles of equipment & personnel lined up on 2 lane roads. Easy to target, hard to resupply.
