I'm beginning to despise a certain letter of the alphabet.

When stuff like Ukraine happens, I'm so intent on finding out what's actually happening, I forget there's an entire business model based on just making stuff up.

(7,365 posts)Part of me thinks it's Liberals doing this to make these people look like buffoons, but then they get interviewed and that theory goes away.

(19,201 posts)add child sex trafficking, satan worshipers, and now a new one....bio- weapons labs.
This "Q" crap is just a plug and play conspiracy mill for people with no imagination or intelligence. No creativity either. Losers, all.

(60,010 posts)The people posting it are just who you think they would be.
Nice thing about Twitter is one can quickly and easily understand who they are by reading a couple of their tweets on their timeline.
Then I report them, which automatically blocks 'em.

(60,010 posts)Sometimes I unblock after reporting, because there are often other reportable tweets under what I reported
I know it takes a lot of reports to get Twitter to act, but who knows...my report might be the magic numbef.

(8,052 posts)it takes to sustain belief in religion, it's not a stretch to see how some people will believe shit like Qanon. They're just like ultra-religious people I know--always looking for signs and messages, always think they're finding hidden truths and heading toward enlightenment. They're going to stop human trafficking and rescue children from pedophiles and prevent Covid-22!
My husband used to work with a fellow military officer who would pray to God to reveal to him which route he should take to get to a vacation destination. He thought God would send him a message. I was college roommates with a girl who eventually became religiously insane and thought God was constantly revealing himself to her through various signs and messages, and she was trying to decode it all. Qanon (and Russian propaganda, which may be what Qanon is) is just another sieve for catching these mentally ill people.

(9,893 posts)Sunday night on the Facebook of someone I used to know how has gone totally conspiracy. There is not a conspiracy theory she doesn't believe. I watch her page just to keep up on the latest. At first I didn't get what these supposed biolabs were. Then I realized it was supposedly our biolabs. Which begs the question, Why would we put such a thing within rocket lunch distance of Russia? Unbelievable that people believe this shite.
