Those young soldiers were lied to by Putin, who told them they would be welcomed with flowers in Ukraine, as liberators coming to save them. What a shock to find out the truth.

Just not the way Putin intended. Not as liberators, but as fellow human beings.

They are treating these poor young Russian soldiers with great dignity and compassion. I hope we all learn from them.

mistreated. Ukrainians can differentiate who is responsible for this invasion...it's not the conscripts who wanted this war.

I keep drawing comparisons between what Russia is doing to Ukraine and what we did to Iraq, but I couldn’t imagine surrendering. Before I deployed to Iraq, I long decided that I’d rather die than be taken prisoner by whatever militia groups were operating in my sector at the time.

I feel so badly for these Russian soldiers. It must be terrible to be sent to kill someone who may be your neighbor’s cousin, or your best friend’s brother in law. I can’t even imagine.
I hope they all surrender, and live a better life in Ukraine.
