Are there examples in history where a massive underdog like Ukraine was able to repel an invasion or at least force some kind of stalemate and do you think the massive sanctions and non direct military aid will make a difference? Thank you in advance.

(99,706 posts)In Afghanistan and Iraq the invasion was successful. The occupation was a failure. I hope the Russians aren't in Ukraine for decades

(32,606 posts)Amazing underdogs alone before the US got involved. The RAF superior fighters were outnumbered and after nights of bombing turned the Nazis away never to return to the British airways again

Also the Russo-Japanese War though that was decided at sea.
