The world is spinning, and we have to come to grips with that.. but I am at peace, knowing that we have the right person to lead us through possibly some very dark times.
I supported Joe Biden, because we were in such a quagmire, and I needed someone to turn to who had that gravitas to show the way out. It does not mean that white supremists will suddenly disappear.. that Putin will come to his senses.. that my gas bill will not rise, and inflation can be a headache.
I am at peace because we have someone who can pull us all together. Frankly we all need to pull together in harness.
That speech was the balm needed, and watching the President walk through all the congress people who wanted to say hello, I saw true leadership, compassion, and a way forward.

(10,252 posts)to have a basically decent person to lead this country. Not a perfect guy. Not a guy who never makes some mistakes. But just a basically decent person.

(36,841 posts)I feel we are extremely fortunate that the adults are in charge, but there is far too much suffering going on to feel completely at peace.

(22,875 posts)what will be some very dark times for all of us. None of this is going to be easy and no suffering.. quite the opposite.. I am at peace because we have someone we can actually trust to make some tough decisions..

(22,875 posts)and specials.. and while knowing all these heartbreak that people would be going through. Knowing we made it through with our allies was comforting.. and I got that last night.. a call to action, not that it will be painless.. but that we will move forward. If that makes any sense

(18,122 posts)After four years of anti-American chaos, we needed a president with maturitysomeone who the rest of the world could look up to.
I do not, however, think he will pull us together. We have become too politically divided. It doesn't matter what Biden says, Republicans will bash him. It doesn't matter how much his policies will help America, they'll say he's the worst president in our history.
I used to think there were certain events (like war) that would pull all Americans together, but not anymore. Seeing Trump side with our enemy, and his cult follow suit, I think our country is fundamentally broken.
