Louie Gohmert is so dumb he gave up a safe House seat only to come up short in his bid to become the new Texas AG. Actually finished last in a four-person primary. Womp womp, Goober. @MuellerSheWrote

I stopped reading after they called him a *firebrand*.

(70,683 posts)Because George PEE Shrub made it into the runoff. The lesser of two evils (PEE and PAXTON) is still evil. PAXTON will probably win. If PEE got to the General and win, he wouldn't be much better than PAXTON, wouldn't do public good because all he's doing is subsistence saving of his pitiful career. It shows how desperate we are that even GOHMERT (to get rid of PAXTON) seemed like somebody to cheer for.
The BUSH Family Evil Empire figured out generations ago that Texas is easy pickings for Repukes, butter for a hot knife. Notice that PEE has been over there instead of his home state of Florida?

(504 posts)What a friggin' joke. This guy emits a trail of slime when he walks. I'd sooner sit down with Jim Jordan for a beer than this door jam. Jordan is also reprehensible but seemingly not illiterate like LG.

That's just in the "G's" alphabetically!
That fool Boehbert has to make the list as well...although at one time it was a dead heat between Gohmert and Steve King of Iowa...now its an open race!
Throw a brick in the air around the GOP caucus and you might hit a new "winner, winner chicken dinner" member for the honor of "dumbest congressperson of the Congress".

(58,785 posts)Gohmert will be replaced by Nathaniel Moran, a strong Republican, of course. Although Stuart Rothenberg says Trump would have won this district 72-26 percent if he were running (!), in the little I saw on looking up Moran, he sounded as if he was running on more traditional Republican values (like "pushing back against cultural Marxism" ) and didn't rabblerouse like a trumpist. So maybe his big win is an indicator.
For those who don't go there, Roll Call covers congress and is well regarded, with a reputation for being nonpartisan. (Wish we had a lot more of those!) Their journalists are all required to be housebroken and able to talk with professional restraint around and about congress's people. A Roll Call dictionary explaining what "firebrand" may be a euphemism for would defeat the purpose, so the better informed readers are, the more accurate, and rounded, their takeaway. I think most of us have a fair idea of what Gohmert the "firebrand" means.
