More on blasts heard in Kyiv: In an online post, interior ministry adviser Anton Herashchenko said that a large heating supply service may have been destroyed in a rocket strike near Kyivs rail station, possibly leaving parts of Kyiv without heat during freezing temperatures.

Update: A Russian air strike hit near Kyivs southern rail station on Wednesday where thousands of women and children are being evacuated, Ukraines state-run railway company Ukrzaliznytsya said in a statement.
The station building suffered minor damage and the number of any casualties was not yet known, it said, adding trains were still operating.
Another update: its now reported as being caused by the downing of a russian cruise missile
