With Regard To Russian Nukes: What Condition Are They In?

Would they even work? I think his threats are toothless, I think his own military would stop him in any case, they don't all want to die, and they would all die if they crossed that line.

And yes, if he attacks a NATO country, Russian leadership will be obliterated. The might of NATO would wipe them out way quicker and way more efficiently than his piss-poor, hollowed-out-by-corruption, sorry excuse for a military can even imagine. They could and probably would erase Putin from the earth before he could give an order to launch nukes, quite frankly.

we should probably assume that most of them will work.

I don't think Putin is crazy enough to use any, but there are enough to destroy every US city multiple times over. MAD, Mutual Assured Destruction.

I’m not sure Germany couldn’t beat them now in World War II with this army

They could have an 80% failure rate and still render the US unrecognizable

and the fallout would poison much of the the world, some precious city or culture obliterated. Then the question, do we answer? The possibility of the end of civilization is what we're talking about. Let's not get cocky here.

A sane person wouldn't do it, but Putin is a narcissistic sociopath. Do you think he'll let us humiliate him and claim victory?

There are people who will object, but are they in positions of power? He will have elevated people as crazy as himself, much like Trump did. i pray someone close to Putin will put an end to him or his power, but Putin will have many safeguards set up and it would take courage and luck for anyone else to prevail
