2 years ago, I yelled out "what about victims of gun violence like my daughter" at SOTU. I did it for gun violence victims & spent most of night in jail.
@laurenboebert
did it to be an asshole. Why was she not removed & spending her night in jail?

Effete snobs was a phrase used by Vice President Spiro Agnew to denounce anti-war protesters, and young intellectuals in general, during the Vietnam era. The phrase quickly caught on and was adopted as a slogan by the anti-war movement.
Opposing war is, I suppose, no longer fashionable for some.

(11,736 posts)Similar to anti-war protestors and Code Pink in the past. They get removed and can be charged with Breach of Peace or trying to disrupt a government function.

People in the gallery who cause a disruption can be arrested for disturbing the peace or trespassing.
Does that suck? Yes it does. It is what it is however. I understand the sentiment from Guttenberg. The proper response is to organize against Boebert continuing to be the Representative from the 3rd Congressional District in Colorado.

The Senators and Representatives shall receive a Compensation for their Services, to be ascertained by Law, and paid out of the Treasury of the United States. They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.

(10,303 posts)Would what that so-called Representative did rise to "breach of the Peace"? Basically it's disorderly conduct... And Boebert's conduct certainly would be "disorderly".
But the fact that she's a Rep gives her a lot of latitude.

(8,329 posts)Means an action that causes a clear and present danger lacking that there is nothing chargeable for her to be removed. Just shouting bullshit ( the one trick she has ) is a clear breach of decorum in the Hiuse Chamber, but it is not a chargeable offense.

(2,252 posts)great picture of Boebert's face. Reminds one of Monica. Or of Trumpy when he was face to whatever with his beloved Pootie.
