Door knocking, phone banking postcard writing and out of state canvassers in my precinct are all the same strategies we started using when stumping for Dean. He got volunteers here excited to get trained to GOTV. Each year it is easier to pick it up and start stumping for the next Democratic candidate.

this is an open seat which pretty much everyone and their grandmother thought was long gone at the start of this cycle. Instead it is a lean Dem seat.

and formulating a winning Democratic coalition on the presidential level. Let's get that straight right now. If that were the case, we'd have a President Dean. Yes, he may have helped Dems in Congressional races, but the 50 state strategy has nothing do with Obama's electoral strength.

Dr. Dean changed how grassroot politics are done and the 2008 Obama campaign used the 50 state strategy almost to the very end. Had it not been for Dr. Dean's example, we may be voting to get President McCain out of office. The fact that Virginia is now in play, and that President Obama is the first Democrat to win VA since 1968, is proof that it works.

first Wednesday each month(celebrated our 8th anniversary in June). So we are always together the day after the election. '04 was a commiseration gathering, '08 was a celebration. First we took over our OC delegation to CDP conventions, then members started running for office. We have elected members to school boards and city councils. One of the best candidate trainings anyone can attend are the DFA trainings.

Howard, we love you in Orange County! (see my avatar).
