1/6-Email Pence adviser sent to Trump's lawyer: "thanks to your bullshit, we are now under siege"

Check out this email a Pence adviser sent to Trump's lawyer on Jan. 6.

It "very respectfully" rips apart the Trump team's legal analysis, and then ends with:

"And thanks to your bullshit, we are now under siege.
Sent from my iPhone."

🧵 “The court filing included emails…from the day of the Jan. 6 attack, including one where a lawyer for then-VP Pence said no judges would endorse Eastman's legal strategy…

‘Thanks to your bullshit, we are now under siege,’ the Pence lawyer, Greg Jacob, wrote to Eastman.

If you stand six feet away from the wall and with every step you go half way, when will you reach the wall?

The answer is: NEVER. Because there are an infinite number of "halves".

With every revelation about TFG's wrongdoing, it feels like we are taking another half-way step. I do hope that the orange asshole will finally have real consequences for his crimes.

That just says it all doesn't it. Even in the face of cold hard facts of an election result they didn't like they bloviate about what "Democrats will do" when in office. Amazing...truly amazing.

I noticed that too. Their unbridled fear of Democrats is what is pulling them to justify the most nefarious and anti-democratic / authoritarian agendas. In their mind, by whatever means necessary to keep the evil Democrats from the halls of power. It's what is "good for the nation" in their mind.

Well, what do ya know. He was right.
His comment was sort of an indirect admission of guilt. He knew they broke the law, and was worried about the implications.
I'm not talking about the insurrection itself, I'm talking about everything leading up to it...all the planning and manipulation.
The planning for all this was started prior to the election. The "Stop the Steal" slogan was itself the attempt to steal the election.

And things might get done. If they could just accept that the country needs this balance, then they could learn that in the big sandbox, sometimes they’ll get more of what they want, and some terms they’ll get less, but at least they’ll be some honesty in the game, not the scorched earth crap they engage in now. Maybe Republicans could stand on principle again, and chastise their inexperienced and irreverent junior colleagues when they heckle the POTUS at the SOTU, because THEY WOULDN’T ACCEPT THAT FROM THE OTHER SIDE.

For one, they would embrace a dictator.

They wouldn’t corrupt or suppress the vote.

They wouldn’t ignore climate change.
Have you noticed that even when do-called intelligent conservatives agree with a liberal position, they always throw in gratuitous insults.

who refuses to accept reality.

He can't stand losing (although he's quite experienced in that area) and will do anything, legal or usually illegal, to prevent being labeled a loser.

This from the man who showed little inclination to learning how to govern - except by fiat - and spent far more time golfing and having self-serving rallies, than actually doing the job for which he was selected.

We can only assume his manic attempts to retain power were only to assuage his shattered ego, and to avoid investigation into his numerous law breaking activities.

https://edition.cnn.com/2022/03/03/politics/trump-january-6-committee-eastman-email/index.html

(CNN)Buried in a court filing late Wednesday from the January 6 committee is an explosive email exchange between Greg Jacob, a top lawyer for then-Vice President Mike Pence, and John Eastman, a lawyer who was working with then-President Donald Trump's legal team, that absolutely nails the culpability of Eastman in the events of that terrible day.

Hope they nail the whole treasonous cabal, starting with the Con.
