Also, FFS, say her name. "Tennis Star's"...

(3,492 posts)Her name is literally the first two words of the story. Not everyone knows who she is. Not everyone watches tennis.

(36,851 posts)Also, that is not the main thing wrong with the piece.
Johnny2X2X
(19,066 posts)Serena is maybe the most famous female athlete in the world and they used the wrong picture.

(3,492 posts)In the words of the immortal Emily Litella

(268,997 posts)Oops! They do resemble a lot in some photos - just like me and my siblings.

(26,501 posts)really a bad ass and I have no idea how she can do so many things at the same time. Other than that I don't follow tennis. But both of them seem to be involved in so many things beyond the sport.

(4,386 posts)Yes, they apparently used the wrong photo, which is sloppy on the part of the NYT. They did correct it for the online version, and they apologized.
BlueTsunami2018
(3,492 posts)They used a picture of her sister.
I missed that myself.
Sympthsical
(9,073 posts)I didn't even look at the picture. Was so confused, because it seems like a really nice article, lol.
But, no. That is not her. Nice job, NYT.

malaise
(268,997 posts)but NYT says otherwise.
A few days ago I was on a call with one of my brother's kids. I had on reading glasses and bro came in the room when he heard my voice. He screamed when he saw me _I was wearing reading glasses - he could have sworn he saw our long deceased mother. Now I rarely look like mom, but it's like that with family.
