Keep this in mind, folks. The pilots that flew into the Twin Towers were trained in Florida. And now it looks like Russians have a safe haven in Florida. We seriously need intervention.
The article shows a very Florida tactic. Florida Repubs are pretending not to understand what is being suggested. Exaggerating the situation to make it seem nonsensical. But the real information is put in the last paragraph.
Gov. Ron DeSantis rejects push for Florida to sell Russian investments
Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) has rejected a push for Florida to sell investments in Russian-owned companies in retaliation for the invasion of Ukraine.
The Republican governor pushed back after state Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried, the Sunshine States top elected Democrat, called on the state move to divest itself of assets tied to Russia.

She also claimed confusion over Frieds demand that the state moves to seize real estate owned by Russian oligarchs.
To the extent, Russian citizens purchase South Florida real estate, for example, that has nothing to do with the state of Florida investing in or divesting from a list of Russian-headquartered entities, Pushaw said.
DeSantis and two allies, Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis and Attorney General Ashley Moody control the State Board of Administration. The SBA manages an estimated $195 billion in state-owned holdings, including about $300 million in Russian-based entities.

(46,684 posts)Going after private property isn't a bad idea, in my opinion. But it should be strategic. They should go after the people that have a strong tie to Putin.

(17,471 posts)The Republicans are indistinguishable from the Russians, their goals are the same, their heroes are the same, their actions are the same. We act shocked when we read that Russians are planning public executions after the conquer Ukraine. We have heard that same line from Republican leaders and try to blow it off as hot-air. If it looks like a Putin, and it Walks like a Putin and it talks like a Putin, then...
