who has spent his entire career advocating for regular people. Probably just an attempt at humor. Or maybe he had some specific r's in mind when he said that.

...comes more from an intellectual conclusion about what will create a better world sometimes, not from an overwhelming love of people in general. I know that things won't be good for the people I do care about unless everybody is treated well.

I've gotten pretty cynical about the bulk of humanity. By and large, people suck.
