Russian billionaire tycoon Oleg Deripaska, known for his close ties with President Vladimir Putin, has called for an end to the war in Ukraine.

When Putin loses more oligarchs, as I think he will, he will no longer have their confidence as Da Capo. They will ask him to retire, one way or another.

That's all any dictator needs, at least for now. Maybe the sanctions and the loss of support of the oligarchs will slow him down "one day" but right now, Putin has all the cards.

And it seems he has full control of the FSB who will protect him from assassination or other attacks.

Putin isn't going anywhere. The free world needs to focus on the reality that we will need to deal with him militarily at some point. Probably sooner rather than later.
