Assuming they scrammed the reactor (the specific design fault of Chernobyl's reactor turned the scram control into a "blow up the reactor" control, a fact known to only a few people at the time and hidden from the operators) then this reactor is now safe from such a cataclysmic fate. Once powered down, even if bombs penetrate the reactor core there won't be a violent reaction. And Russia fixed the remaining RBMK reactors that had the design flaw after the Chernobyl thing blew up in everyone's faces.

Shelling a reactor is still a very bad double-stupid idea but they are probably just trying to deny Ukraine the power, not make Europe glow in the dark. Not that this is a good way to do that, but acting like it might become Chernobyl squared is not a productive reaction when it's very unlikely to be true.
