March 3 (Reuters) - Texas has appealed a judge's order that blocked the state from investigating the parents of a 16-year-old transgender girl for providing her with gender-affirming medical treatments that Governor Greg Abbott says are "child abuse."

The appeal notice, first posted online by the Austin American-Statesman newspaper, seeks to overturn a temporary restraining order issued on Wednesday by Travis County District Court Judge Amy Clark Meachum to halt the state's probe of the family. read more

Abbott last month directed the state's Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to conduct such investigations, citing a non-binding legal opinion by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton that concluded some medical treatments used to help transgender youth transition away from their birth gender could constitute child abuse.

President Joe Biden on Wednesday denounced Abbott's directive as a "cynical and dangerous campaign targeting transgender children and their parents."

Once again, the only people involved in this whole awful saga who are abusing children have the initials Greg Abbott and Ken Paxton.

They're the ones who need to be investigated for child abuse.

I hope no trans child harms or kills themselves over these Nazi goons... But if that tragically happens? I hope these two get served with a wrongful death suit the next day.

As far as President Biden pushing back? We thank you. But, like PatrickforB said elsewhere on this: You know, it just may be time to roll in the tanks. I don't know what the hell else is going to stop this cruelty and abuse and targeting of innocent and vulnerable people.

Why don't all these trans-hating, Putin-loving fascists just get on a plane and move to Russia already? They'd be happier there, and we'd be happier without them.
