New evidence shows Trump was told many times there was no voter fraud -- but he kept saying it anyway

A data expert for former president Donald Trump’s campaign told him bluntly not long after polls closed in November 2020 that he was definitely going to lose his campaign for reelection.
In the weeks that followed, multiple top officials at the Justice Department informed Trump that they had closely examined allegations of fraud that were being circulated by Trump’s close allies — and had found them simply untrue.

And in the days leading up to the joint session of Congress on Jan. 6, 2021, even Trump’s loyal vice president, Mike Pence, repeatedly conveyed to Trump that he did not believe the Constitution gave him the power to overturn the election as he presided over the counting of electoral college votes giving the presidency to Joe Biden.

These and other new details were included in a legal brief filed late Wednesday by lawyers for the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol as they began to build a case that Trump was knowingly misleading his followers about the election and pressuring Pence to break the law in the weeks and hours before the assault.

According the panel and others, at least 11 aides and close confidantes told Trump directly in the weeks after the election that there was no fraud and no legal way to overturn the result.

It just goes to show that absolutely nothing matters to Trump except getting what he wants. Things like truth and facts are irrelevant to him. He recognizes no law, no rulebook, no moral code, other than "I want [fill in the blank]!"

What a warped and twisted mind. And there are people who want him to be president again! Incomprehensible.

Failure means loss of manhood. So he falls into a delusion. He didn't lose the election; it was stolen. All it took was a couple of people like Sidney Powell and Rudy to tell him.

spoken of how cowed (and frankly afraid) many of Trump's staff were of his temper and temperament. Which means - it's unlikely that most (or any) of these conversations consisted of, "Your full of F**king Sh*t, Donald. Now STFU!" And that's the only thing Donnie responds to. In short - these people were still carrying water for the President. And if they weren't, we would have seen mass resignations. Didn't happen.

intent is a difficult thing to prove legally in a criminal trial.

The evidence shows trump was told many times there was no voter fraud that altered the results of the outcome. Even Bill Freaking Barr told trump voter fraud allegations were "bullshit". Makes it all but impossible for trump's attorneys to claim, hey he truly thought the election was rigged so he acted accordingly in good faith.

Paging Mr. Garland, Mr. Merrick Garland.

I doubt if he was thinking of the common Rumpian grifter.. Nope, that struck me there and then he had a cat-n-canary kind of smile on his face.
