Melania Trump's BeBest fundraiser ends in failure after official scrutiny

This was a scam. Grifters have to grift

https://occupydemocrats.com/2022/03/03/exclusive-melania-trumps-bebest-fundraiser-ends-in-failure-after-official-scrutiny/

Two and a half weeks ago, news broke that the former First Lady’s fundraising event was purportedly to raise money for a BeBest initiative charity named “Fostering the Future” with tickets as expensive as $50,000 and a state of Florida investigation into the event, according to a New York Times expose.

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ strategic communications officer Erin Moffett responded to our request for comment today to say that Whip Fundraising, the organization that was actually running the event for Trump, is about to complete its registration process with the state as a result of its investigation. Their website accessvast.com is no longer public, but an archived version shows unverified claims about raising millions for charities.

Furthermore, Moffett says that a new and different charity named Generation Justice Inc. stepped in to be the properly registered charitable beneficiary of Melania Trump’s BeBest fundraising efforts. Once registered, Whip Fundraising plans to associate itself with Generation Justice. Her office plans to issue an official statement later today about the matter.......

This isn’t the Trump family’s first foray with state regulators over charity fundraising problems. The former president paid a hefty $2 million fine for admitting to 19 violations of the law in a settlement with New York’s Attorney General dissolving the Trump Foundation. Donald Trump admitted to personal misuse of funds along with an agreement to restrict his involvement in charitable “service” in the future while in the Oval Office.

This is what she does for a living. This is who she is. I am amazed that anyone would be surprised by this.

is that authorities in Florida, of all places, bothered to check into this scheme at all.

The amazing thing is that they keep doing it and are (almost) getting away with it. They know that there are no real consequences for this type of behavior.

At least they put it in quotes, but I'd use the word "servicing".

"Service" is what one person does on behalf of another.

"Servicing" is what a bull does to a cow in the back forty.

The Rump family is deeply involved in what you might call "charitable servicing".

Occupy Democrats is awaiting the results of public records request with Florida’s Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services on this matter which is pending and will bring even more clarity to this story which is breaking and may be updated.

I look forward to when they get these documents. I would like to have a discussion thread about what she specifically does that breaks the law. You have to know it will read like a scammer’s guide to enriching oneself at the expense of children.

I also want to know what the 19 violations were from his case. Probably the same playbook.

She sounds just like her husband in that tweet. Everyone else is corrupt. The corrupt media.

You publicly present a “logo” of “Be Best” and it looks like you just wrote it on the back of a piece of cardboard that came with a package of new shirts, with a couple of big marking pens, and didn’t even give thought to letter size or even spacing. Just fucking amateur. Didn’t she have access to any graphic artists or logo designers? Or didn’t she think it was worth the bother?

My guess is the latter, not the former.

Maybe the reason they’re still together is that she’s as much of a phony, money-grubbing, conniving little crook as he is. And they finally found each other.

She probably “came up with” the “logo” about 20 minutes before the press conference that day.

Hey Mellie, you dropped out of Conversational English class WAY too early. The proper construction would be “Be The Best” or “Be Your Best.” The slogan “Be Best” strongly suggests someone who thinks she’s pretty smart but doesn’t have full command of English, since it’s not her native language. She probably liked the sound of it. And she probably likes how it looked on paper since she’s probably the one who wrote it on that piece of paper that you see in the photo.
