Is Putin a putain?

Kind of funny.

Here in France the news networks have to spell Putin's last name "Poutine" because if you pronounce Putin in French it comes out the same as "putain" which is the French word for whore.

Seems à propos.

I would say that to change the spelling of a surname is usually not done.
