UN Assembly votes to demand that Russia stop war in Ukraine

Two days ago, by a vote of 141-5, the UN Assembly voted to demand Russia stop its war in Ukraine.

This would not be the first time the UN has voted against Russia at the United Nations. They voted that they, and all foreign countries, withdraw from Afghanistan in 1980. So, it is not a new concept.

If Russia refuses to withdraw, the UN should send peacekeeping forces into that country to create a buffer from the Russian aggression. This seems to be the most viable option at this time. NATO forces are not politically capable of acting, for fear of expanding the war.

The UN needs to show leadership at this time, in my opinion.
