Did Putin and crew only consider right wing sources of news from the US/rest of world?

When putting their Ukrainian takeover plan together? Just seems to me they bought into fox narrative that the USA/Europe is weak and divided since Biden became president. Or are they just evil dumbshits?

and I very much doubt that Fox's narrative was a motivating factor. Putin believed what he wanted to believe regardless of what foreign sources were reporting, and he was following his own script, which dated back to the tsars.

He saw Trump still not arrested for obvious crimes, President Biden low in the polls, Mueller Report a dud, and Trump likely to be his 2024 BFF. Therefore, Putin felt the timing was right and he even waited for China's request to invade after the Olympics! Also, Trump did enough to weaken NATO, so he thought green light for now?

And, don't forget the white supremacists storming the Capitol and very few notable arrests over a Year! Tucker getting air time on RT, and talk about a Vlad interview just a week before the Invasion!

So, yeah, Putin felt empowered by Fox and right wing media as they rolled out the Red Carpet!
