We all want to avoid being drawn into this war, but large wars have a tendency to grow larger. What seem like a risky options, today, will pale in comparison to the more narrow and risky options in the future. The sooner Russia terminates is war on Ukraine the better.

Vindman does, in fact, know what he's talking about.

2. The only way it can be contained to Ukraine is if all neighboring states

I don’t know if we can get Putin to surrender but I think that has to be the objective at this point. We can’t reach any agreement with him anyway because he’s so untrustworthy

4. I can't believe there aren't multiple scenarios

on the table between no NATO involvement and thermonuclear MAD.

At the same time, for fuck's sake - with the buildup since WWII of nuclear weapons on all sides,, with supposedly lucid civilized world leaders conferring about how many of their nation's cities, people, they are willing to expose - trading us about like so many matchsticks, who can truly claim surprise.that it has come to this?
