"SNIP.......
Jonathan Bernstein: One group of Republicans spent the buildup to the war mocking Bidens warnings about Russian President Vladimir Putins invasion plans; that includes the rump faction that had, until about a week ago, ranged from Putin-curious to full-on Putin fans.
As for most other Republicans? They have demonstrated they have little or nothing to offer. Theyve been at their best or I suppose their least-worst when they bash Biden for vague, unspecified weakness without suggesting how hes been weak in Europe or what specifically they want him to do to be stronger. But it goes downhill when they do suggest specifics, whether its Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker advocating for a U.S.-imposed no-fly zone (which Florida Senator Marco Rubio, to his credit, knocked down as the beginning of World War III) or South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham calling for someone to assassinate Putin.
Republicans are so averse to agreeing with anything a Democratic president is doing that, when a Democratic president occupies the middle ground, they have little to say.

"That's not the point!"

(4,845 posts)They complained about it since day 1 and still didn't have any replacement ideas some 14 years later. But hey, it is partly responsible for helping them elect Trump in office.

(12,286 posts)I sell small group and individual health insurance. In red trump-ville Oklahoma.
People are shocked when they realize the ACA helps them out.
Like, yeah, this is the law your local politicians and news tell you sucks and is awful but it guess what, it actually works.
Go figure.

(4,845 posts)where they interviewed someone in Kansas or Kentucky, they asked the person how he/she likes their state ACA which is named differently, and the person praised it and said it's super good. Then, they asked the person how he/she liked ObamaCare, and the person detested and hated it. This is why we attribute "good messaging" for the republicans because they can sell these lies to these people when they are asking about the exact same thing and they can come out with different results.
