Blinken: Ukraine can absolutely win the war

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has told the BBC that he is convinced Ukraine can win its war with Russia.

He could not say how long the conflict would last, but insisted that Ukraine's defeat was not inevitable.

Mr Blinken praised the "extraordinary resilience" of the Ukrainian people.

"If it's the intention of Moscow to try somehow to topple the government and install its own puppet regime, 45 million Ukrainians are going to reject that one way or the other," he said.

His popularity and leadership skills are growing exponentially. I predict Putler will do about anything to remove him.

carpet-bombing and destruction of Ukraine and its people by Russia. That bombing of the Nuclear Power plant last night inched us closer to more definitive action. Will we get there? Or, Blinken's optimism aside, will we face horrific regret. I know the risks and the reasoning in NOT doing so. But I'm going to be one of those who simply do not know how to accept what I fear Putin has in mind.

I don't think Ukraine or the world has the stomach to see its people and history torn to shreds by Russian bombs and artillery for months on end.

We all instinctively know how wrong and unfair this is and that we can't let Putin destroy them without more resistance than we are currently offering. I really don't know what the answer is and whatever it is, it won't be ideal, but to stand back while allowing this to happen seems unconscionable.

Malcolm Nance said the same thing that UKR can win the war. War is part deception and part psychology. Putin is doubting some part of himself this weekend. He's lost the moral justification for war. He's bombing civilian areas. Somehow UKR has the weaponry to compete with Russian tanks and planes. Could the technology available in this war mean the end of technological advantage in war? That would make any nation think more than twice about starting a war.
