Prosecutors on Friday revealed an incriminating text message sent by accused MAGAt rioter Guy Reffitt, reports Politico's Kyle Cheney.
The text message in question came just four days after the Capitol riot when Reffitt learned that law enforcement officials had brought in members of the Texas Three Percenters militia in for questioning.
"This is not a drill," Reffitt wrote to other Three Percenters on January 10th, 2021. "Be prepared. The sh*t is now hitting the fan. Start purge of all previous conversations."
That last line is key to the prosecutors' case that Reffitt tried to obstruct justice, as it amounts to soliciting for the destruction of evidence.

(95,237 posts)They are throwbacks, to the days before the Munro Effect was harnessed to destruction of armor vehicles by infantry. Over-sized, high-power rifles were designed and employed for the purpose from the Great War on. In the Red Army they ran a bit more powerful than the rest, and actually proved of some use against Nazi equipment. Remaining examples were pressed into service for sniping in Korea.

(9,670 posts)20 years minimum. Another one of these Uncivil War militiamen just pleaded guilty and is turning state's evidence. They expect him to serve 7-9 years. And rat on his buddies. One of whom is none other than Roger Stone. And the feds will continue to connect the dots up line to DJT.
It's happening. Watch it unfold.

(25,911 posts)NONE of that is true, so why did you post that?
Answer: why did you post something very, very not factual that is at best misinformation. And, you know it isn't true.
Why did you post it?

(9,670 posts)We're moving ahead and upward in the prosecutions. It's how other large-scale federal prosecutions operate. And frankly, they've been moving at warp speed given the vastness of their assignment.
It's not the prosecutors that are causing us angst. It's the race against the clock and the fact that the stakes have never been higher that are driving most of us insane. We never seem to win these things.
Methinks all of that is about to change.

(9,670 posts)Once the fascists take control again - and they're bound to eventually - they won't allow prosecutions of their offenses. In fact, they may turn the tables and prosecute our leaders with fake charges and kangaroo courts.
The stakes truly have never been higher.

(3,605 posts)Also, this guy didn't cut a deal to get a reduced sentence by cooperating, he wasted everyone's time by demanding a trial. Probably drank too much of his own koolaid and thinks some patriotic juror will sympathize with him and refuse to convict another fine patriot like himself. Having gone through voir dire myself last month (yay jury duty) I find this ... unlikely.

(972 posts)Id be much more nervous about having a trial in a red state where one person could thwart justice due to their warped beliefs.
I think these guys believe everyone feels the way they do and there are enough patriots in blue areas who support them so they will get off.
BIG miscalculation.
