The Kyiv Independent@KyivIndependent·7m⚡️Media: Italy seizes property worth $150 million from Russian oligarchs.
According to The Guardian, the list includes villas of billionaire Alisher Usmanov and Russian state TV host Vladimir Soloviev, yachts of Russias richest man, Alexei Mordashov, and Gennady Timchenko.
---
Italian police have seized a yacht owned by Alexei Mordashov, the richest man in Russia before being blacklisted this week by the European Union following Moscows attack on Ukraine.
The 65-metre (215-ft) Lady M was impounded in the northern Italian port of Imperia.
A second yacht owned by Gennady Timchenko, another billionaire who has close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, is also blocked in Imperia and will be sequestered shortly.
The move came as western states implement massive sanctions, including asset freezes, to try to force Russia to withdraw from Ukraine.
On Thursday, Frances finance minister announced the seizure of a yacht linked to Igor Sechin, the boss of Rosneft, in the Mediterranean port of La Ciotat.

(12,210 posts)1. The question comes of when they will give it back.
If they give it back, does it still count?

Alexei owns Severstal Steel Russia's largest steel company. He bought the steel company I worked at
at the worst time just a few months before the 2008 crash. He ran it for a short time but ended up selling
off all his steel assets in the USA during the Bush depression.
