(22,697 posts)That an attempt has been made to log in by someone in Russia. They require me to change my password. It's a real pain because I can't always submit the new password. It's happened to two of my accounts.

(1,305 posts)Make sure you log in to IG directly, not using a link in an email or text. A classic phishing ruse is to send a message and link that then pretends to be IG or whatever, then harvests your login credentials. Im not sauce about this but a direct message in IG could be used for the same purpose. So to be safe, log out, then log in again.

(3,013 posts)systems. I would think since their fingerprints have been found for years in critical infrastructure systems like power and water supply systems they would go there first, but they may be probing broad spectrum to assess vulnerabilities. Only good news is if they can turn our lights out, we can probably do the same to them. As aged as our infrastructure and power grid is, theirs is even worse with less resilience and redundancy.
