7. Let me describe (poorly) something read long ago...

If I remember, this was on Usenet (remember that?). It was a document describing how to accomplish what you want. It involved cryptography (pgp), banks, something something, but it worked like this:
Someone anonymously posts on Usenet that $1m is up for grabs to whoever can come closest to “foretelling” when and how and where Joe Blow will die. Kinda like the game Clue…Joe Blow will die at home on Aug 8, 2022 from a gunshot to the head.

Somehow, using pgp in ways I can’t remember, the “guesser” could verify the funds, assure his access to the funds if correct, etc etc.

The author of the paper was supposedly questioned by the fbi and was forced to delete references to it (supposedly).

Maybe all a bunch of bullshit…maybe someone else here saw it and remembers things better than I do.
