DONETSK, March 6 - RIA Novosti. The DPR evacuated more than 300 people from Mariupol and its suburbs to the Novoazovsky district, despite the provocations of Ukrainian nationalists, reported headquarters of territorial defense of the DPR.

"Despite the provocations of Ukrainian nationalists in the direction of humanitarian corridors, Donetsk People's Republic evacuated from Mariupol and settlements of its suburban area to Novoazovsky District more than 300 people," the ministry said in a statement.
Russia launched a military operation on Ukraine February 24. President Vladimir Putin called it the goal of "protecting people who for eight years have been subjected to bullying, genocide by the kiev regime."

Mariupol has 440,000 inhabitants.
